When
i first entered the realm of online planning, like many others learned
to plan
online media from the seat of my pants . With limited training, I had
to take it upon myself to combine the on the job training
gained and
expand on my own time using external resources.
These external resources not only
extensively increased my knowledge base on the medium but intrigued me
to fully jump into this ever growing media type and cast aside all
others.
The first thing that i have learned on
the
job are that key placements/strategies are almost universal on
every site and which is rather common sense, but just in case you
didn't know:
- Homepage (Should be
the highest traffick page on the website)
- Homepage Roadblock
(Complete Ad dominance on a websites highest traffic area.
- Homepage Takeover
(Complete Ad and site design dominance on a websites highest
traffic area.
- Prestitial (A full
page ad that executes to all users from the front door before you move
from one web page to another)
- Interstitial (A full
page Ad that appears to users while browsing the site once they have
turned a few pages)
